2023’s exhibition was another great success. A total of 90 artworks were sold, ranging in price from £5 to £1500 and reflecting a wide range of art forms. All of the 304 artworks submitted were displayed over the four days, including 40 artworks from 15 members of Gargrave Art Group.
This year’s people’s favourite choice went to Matthew Eyles and his moody and meticulous Leaving Milner Field. Matthew, having retired as an architect after 30 years, now enjoys painting from photographs or sketches made on daily walks. We look forward very much to Matthew bringing his extended portfolio, focusing on how human intervention shapes the natural landscape, to the show next year.
